Hiking

After months and months of cold weather, we finally had a few days of really nice weather. We decided to take advantage of it and take the kids hiking. Here in Missouri, we have a small window of time in the spring when it is warm enough to be outside and yet all the ticks and chiggers haven't come out yet. It is during this time that it is enjoyable to go trumping through the woods. We had a lot of fun finding dead trees and pushing the over. Here is a picture of Carter helping me push a tree.

We found an old car body that the kids had fun exploring.

Isaiah decided to show us how hickory trees don't brake they just bend.
It was such a fun day, and I hope we can have lots more of them before the bugs come out.

  1. What a fun little family outing!! I remember tromping through the woods years and years ago out in Missouri and it wasn't until afterwards that Marcy decided to tell me about chiggers!! She had me so scared and after that I didn't feel like venturing into the woods anymore! ;)

By the way, what kind of a sling do you have?
I have been wanting to get one for Brielle, but there are so many to choose from. I don't know which one would be best. It sure looks like yours is very handy though! Melody looks like she is loving it!
