Busy Bees

I have been wanting to get a beehive for sometime now and finally did it. We went and pickup the hive Thursday and brought it home. Then Friday, I opened it up to check it out. It was really fun and exciting. I got to see the queen and eggs and larva. I didn't get stung either. I can't wait to do it again.

Melody @ 4 months

Melody is such a sweetheart. She loves to be talked to. When she is getting attention she will laugh, coo, and blow at you. She especially loves to have someone cluck like a chicken at her. When she isn't getting attention, she loves to look at patterns and things that move. She likes to watch our baby chick and ducks. But let me tell you, she can scream when she thinks she is being neglected.

Melody has gotten good at holding her head up. She isn't crazy about being on her tummy for long periods, but if I put a fun blanket under her she will be happy to look at it for a few moments.
She has also started to use her hands more. She tries to grab anything in reach then put it in her month. She doesn't have the best aim yet, so it takes her a few times to find her mouth. She loves to be carried looking over my shoulder, and she will grab my hair and pull on it. I have started putting her on a mat gym. She likes to try to grab the toys hanging down, but when they don't do what she wants, she gets very mad.

She got to take her first trip to the zoo this month. The whole family had lots of fun. Melody loved being carried around and seeing all of the new sites.
She weighs 13 lbs.

Carter @ 4

Carter has changed so much in the last year. He use to be a totally shy mommy's boy. He wouldn't leave Isaiah or my side. He wouldn't even go outside with Benjamin to play unless we went with him. Now, he is very adventures. Just a few weeks ago he decided to ride his bike to his friends house all by himself and without telling me, which gave me quite a scare.

He is very stubborn. If he decides he wants to do something, he doesn't ask permission, he just does it. Also if he decides something should be a certain way you can't change his mind. I was playing animals with him one day, and I decided to make the cow drive the tractor and that made him so upset because cows can't drive.

He is very tender hearted and will burst into tears if his feelings get hurt or things don't go his way. He also hates it when tears come out of his eyes, which makes him cry harder. Usually when he starts crying and says, "I can't stop, I need a hug." Once he gets his hug he is ok.

He use to believe you could only love one person, and his person was Dad. So, Dad could only love him and if he told Benjamin or me he loved us Carter would get so mad. After months of that, we finally convinced him you can love everyone.

Carter loves to play the computer and his v-smile. He is in to Pokemon and big equipment. His best friend is Benjamin. He still has a blankie he carries around. It was given to him when he was born by my friend Tina. When he decides he needs a nap, he will cover himself with his blanket from the top of his head to his toes and go to sleep. We call it his little cocoon.
Carter has really changed into a darlying little boy that is a joy to be around.
