Louisville Trip

We decided to take a family trip to Louisville, KY because Isaiah has a few shops he contracts work through there that he wanted to visit. We spent a few nights in St. Louis having fun. Jeannie and her kids also came with us.
In St. Louis we went to the zoo. There they had an exhibit were you could pet stingrays. Benjamin's favorite animal is the stingray, so we had to go. He absolutely loved it. Here are some pictures of our zoo trip,
Amita and Carter were a little more timid about petting the rays.
The boys got to pet a bearded dragon. They thought it was so cool to touch a real dragon.

This is how Melody got to cruise around the zoo.

Just some cutie pies.

Amita is a little scared of the elephants.
After St. Louis, we drove to Louisville. The first place we went was ChurchHill Downs where the Kentucky Derby is held. It wasn't open, but we talked to security guard into letting us walk around.

Here is Melody and me at the entrance.
Downtown there was some fountains and a canal to play in. The canal wasn't very deep, so the little kids really enjoyed it. It was so hot and humid there that was really enjoyed getting wet.

Jeannie helping Amita get wet. She needed a lot of encouragement to touch the water.

Isaiah trying to talk Carter into getting in the canal. Once he got in, he loved it.

Michael and Benjamin having fun in the canal.
We also went to the Louisville Zoo. The zoo even had a little water park to play in, which we enjoyed. The highlights of this zoo trip was Benjamin getting to see his second favorite animal the Kamoto Dragon and seeing a silver back gorilla.

The kids riding the dragon.

Melody by the Gorilla. It was so amazing to watch him.
After Louisville, we drove down to Ft. Campbell to visit Monte. We got to take him out for breakfast and spend a few hours visiting before we had to head for home. It was nice to see him and where is is staying.
We had a really fun trip and the kids were very good, but we were all ready to come back home.
